The Modern Art Museum in Ibirapuera Park has two galleries. Both of them are devoted to the ever- changing exhibits of modern work, be it in the form of painting, sculpture, video, textile, or some other medium.

Dating back to 1948, The Italian- Brazilian businessman Francisco “Ciccillo” Matarazzo Sobrinho founded the Modern Art Museum of São Paulo as one of the country's first institutional seats of modernist artistic production. The museum showcases some of the finest art in the region.

The Galleries organize permanent exhibitions which feature the works of particular artists. There is also a small library featuring an excellent collection of art books in various languages, plus a scanner and copier service.

Surrounding the museum is a sculpture garden featuring 28 works by different Brazilian artists, created between 1973 and 1997. The Garden of Sculptures occupies an area of 6000 square meters. Works of at least 25 Brazilian artists are displayed here.
