Itau Cultural Institute

Since its establishment 16 years ago, the Itaú Cultural Institute has promoted and disclosed Brazilian culture, both within Brazil and abroad, becoming a reference point on the cultural scene.

The institute serves as a focal point of the city as it showcases the true culture of the city. Itaú Cultural operates on two distinct fronts. It is a cultural centre, which offers the public diversified programming free of charge and it is also an institute, focused on research and the production of content. Besides it provides incentive and encouragement for the production and diffusion of artistic manifestations in different areas of expression.

The Institution aims at supporting cultural manifestations that contribute to the expansion of freedom of expression. "Itaú Cultural's mission is to encourage and spread knowledge and production of Brazilian arts in order to broaden access to culture and contribute to the process of social involvement."

Itaú Cultural produces books, CDs, CD- ROMs, videos, boxes of culture- related items, among other things which truly enhance one's knowledge of the rich culture of the city.
